On RedHat Enterprise systems you should use the up2date package manager. On CentOS and Fedora systems you should use the yum package manager. If your distribution uses yum, use the following command to install Wireshark together with the Qt GUI: yum install wireshark wireshark-qt. Install the Console's dependenciesįirst make sure you have the required packages installed. The WANbgp package is used by WANGUARD for sending BGP routing announcements. The Supervisor provides routines used to start, shutdown and monitor WANSIGHT and WANGUARD components. The Filter is the WANGUARD component able to detect and scrub malicious traffic. The Sensor is the WANSIGHT and WANGUARD component that does traffic accounting, monitoring and analysis. The Console is a web portal that provides single-point management and reporting for WANSIGHT and WANGUARD. All packages were tested on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.x, CentOS 5.x and Fedora 8. To install the packages on 32 bit CPUs, simply change the "x86_64" string with "i686". The installation steps listed below contain references only to 64 bit packages.

Rpm will only display a list of missing dependencies, instead of automatically resolving them for you. You can also install straightly from the binary package mirror link found in : sudo rpm -ivh If you want to show the verbose output and hash marked progress bar, change the -i to -ivh ( v means verbose, h means hash). Check your Linux kernel version & CentOS version to select the right.

I have been using yum to install software packages in CentOS, but only install via rpm occasionally when the packages are not available in the yum repository or sometimes I can’t access the yum repository due to network or working in an air-gapped environment.
